Island Squad Swimming
The Island has over 150 swimmers in it's Squad coached by the Island's Head Coach, Lee Holland, and his coaching team. Island Squad training sessions have been specifically designed to enable every swimmer to achieve their full potential. A swimmers development is monitored closely by the Head Coach and his team to ensure that a swimmer trains with the squad appropriate to their ability, fitness level as well as physical development. As swimmers progress through the squads the training commitment increases for both swimmers and their families.
Head Coach, Lee Holland
Lee is himself an accomplished swimmer and as Head Coach is responsible for the performance of the squad and the development of both the swimmers and coaches within squad.
Lee has the following office hours during which he will respond to e-mails and telephone calls:
Monday 8.00am – 10.30am
Tuesday 2.00pm - 6.30pm
Thursday 3.30pm – 7.00pm

Squad Coach Structure
Season plans and programmes of work are developed and overseen by the Head Coach with each squad group having consistent contact with their group coach on a night by night basis. Initial enquiries should be directed to the group coach as follows:
- Level 1 Lee Holland
- Level 2 Angela Katz/Leonie Cooil
- Level 3 Brian Laing
- Level 4 Alan Wignall/Stuart Jaques/Mike Sloan
- Level 5 Nikki Raven/Heather Melvin
Parents are asked to speak to the relevant coach for their child’s level in the first instance. Contact details for these are being set up and will follow. Escalation points are as follows:

Welcome Pack
The Welcome Pack is for all swimmers new to the Island Squad and is available to view or download (see link below).
Contained within the pack are the following forms:
- IOMSC Data Sheet - complete and forward to IOMSC Secretary
- IOMSC Club Consent Form - complete and forward to IOMSC Secretary
- IOMSC Medical Form - complete and forward to IOMSC Secretary
- ASA membership Form - countersigned by IOMSC secretary prior to submission to ASA. Your clubs ASA officers will have copies
- ASA Medical Form - complete and send to ASA, your club ASA officer should have a copy, if not contact IOMSC Secretary
